As Windy.com continues expanding in Japan, we’re looking for a Japan Certified Weather Forecaster, or an organization representing one, to join us as our regulatory and meteorological partner for the Japanese market.

This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with one of the world’s leading weather platforms and help shape how millions of users experience weather forecasting in Japan.

What you’ll do

• Act as Windy’s licensed meteorological representative for Japan
• Serve as the key contact between Windy and Japan Meteorological Agency
• Review and validate our forecasting algorithms during the licensing process
• Perform periodic quality checks of forecast outputs for regulatory compliance
• Support the ongoing quality assurance of our forecasting products

• Optionally assist with reviewing / proofreading selected Japan-related weather content and articles

What we’re looking for

• Japan Certified Weather Forecaster (holding a valid Japanese national qualification)
• Based in Japan
• Fluent in Japanese and English
• Experience in operational forecasting, forecast verification, or meteorological QA is a plus
• Excited to work with an innovative international weather-tech company

Collaboration setup

• Remote cooperation from anywhere in Japan
• Outsourcing / partnership model possible
• Higher involvement expected during onboarding and licensing setup, typically requiring dozens of hours per month
• Lower ongoing workload after launch, focused on periodic review and quality assurance
